Description
This solution was developed through a rigorous process of testing and refinement. We evaluated multiple jaw lengths, diameters, and materials to push the physical limits of what could be manufactured while still maintaining strength, repeatability, and clean assembly performance.
The final jaw geometry measures 0.290″ in length, with a base diameter of 0.097″ (2.46 mm) and a tip diameter of 0.059″ (1.47 mm), enabling precise handling of extremely small components.
To achieve the final geometry, we utilized wire EDM machining, allowing us to produce extremely fine, high-precision features that would not be possible with conventional milling. The result is a compact jaw set capable of handling micro-scale assemblies with the same reliability expected from standard CRD tooling.
This jaw set is fully compatible with the CRD500 and CRD510 3-Jaw Spreader systems, allowing manufacturers to perform highly controlled micro-expansion operations while maintaining the ergonomic and repeatable performance of the CRD platform.
